Information for citizens of other EU Member States

Citizens of other EU Member States staying in Latvia have the right to participate in the European Parliament elections in Latvia and to vote for the Latvian lists of candidates.

In order to exercise the right to vote in Latvia, a citizen of an EU Member State must be at least 18 years old on the election day, 25 May 2019, and be registered in the Population Register of Latvia.

 

Registering to vote

To be registered to vote in the European Parliament elections of 2019 in Latvia, citizens of other EU Member States need to submit a signed application to the Central Election Commission of Latvia by 25 April 2019.

The application may be sent by post or submitted in person on working days from 8.30 to 17.00. The application may also be submitted electronically on the Latvija.lv portal or by e-mail if it has been signed with a secure electronic signature.
