Ritvars Eglājs – Secretary of the Central Election Commission
Ritvars Eglājs has many-sided electoral experience. He not only have participated in the organisation of a number of the Saeima, municipal and the European Parliament elections in Latvia, but has also observed elections abroad in Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Ukraine, the United States and other countries. He has experience in holding of three collections of signatures and two referenda. In 2011 the Saeima elected R. Eglājs as a Member of the Central Election Commission, but since 2012 he fulfils the duties of the Secretary of the Commission. Previously he also worked for the Riga City Election Commission. From 2003 to 2012 he was an editor of the map publishing company "Jāņa sēta". Has worked as a reporter at such newspapers as “Latvijas Jaunatne”, “Rīgas Balss” and “Datoru Avīze”.
R. Eglājs studied at the Geography and Earth Sciences Faculty of University of Latvia in the Geography Bachelor's Program with specialisation in Human Geography.
Nominated for election to the Central Election Commission by the National Alliance "All For Latvia!"-"For Fatherland and Freedom/LNNK" (Nacionālā apvienība "Visu Latvijai!"-"Tēvzemei un Brīvībai/LNNK").
