Sigords Stradiņš – Deputy Chairman of the Central Election Commission
Elected as the Deputy Chairman of the Central Election Commission on 22 March 2019. He also held this office between 2003 and 2007, and performed the duties of a Member of the Commission between 2007 and 2012.
S. Stradiņš has acquired his first experience of election organisation during the Municipal elections of 1997 when worked as a member of a polling station commission. Since then he participated in the holding of the Saeima, municipal and the European Parliament elections both as the chairman and a member of a polling station commission and as an election observer. Have also participated in the organisation of a number of referenda and collections of signatures. He has experience in monitoring elections abroad, too. S. Stradiņš has obtained a Bachelor of Social Sciences degree at the University of Latvia.
Nominated for election to the Central Election Commission by the “New Conservative Party” (“Jaunā konservatīvā partija”).
